It’s a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR, not like you really need a picture of the exact car, you could just look at a Mustang. But don’t think that’s all. The car, I’m sorry, KITT, can be operated remotely, by remote, from a remote location of up to a mile away. Seriously though, this car is remote-controlled. In real life, not in the movie. There are a total of three cars, all Ford Mustang Shelby’s. The first is the Remote version, the second is the everyday car called the KITT Hero, and the third is the KITT Attack (sounds dangerous right?), this one is for the high speed chases and action scenes and is driven be a stunt driver.

This is the new Knight Rider. Really? What 80’s B-Movie did they dig him up from?

The new Knight Rider is a 2 hour television movie and airs on Sunday February 17th at 9 p.m. eastern time on NBC. The voice of KITT (that’s the car) is Will Arnett (you know, Michael’s brother George the magician from Arrested Development). The lead goes to Cold Case actor Justin Bruening. The others really aren’t worth mentioning so I’ll just link to the original story at TVSquad.com. Oh, and for all those purists out there, David Hasselhoff will be making a cameo in the movie.

Hoff!

Varitety reports that Alexander producer, Thomas Schuehly, has acquired the rights to Fritz Lang’s classic Sci-Fi film Metropolis. He will be partnering with Mario Kassar, producer on the upcoming Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles tv show, to update the classic 1927 film.

Sci Fi Wire has more details.

“Metropolis is one of the most groundbreaking films in cinematic history; its influence informed classic works throughout the 20th century, including James Whale’s Frankenstein, Dr. Strangelove, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner, Gattaca and The Matrix, the trade paper reported.

Considered one of the most expensive films of its time, Metropolis is set in 2026 in a massive city-state characterized by monumental skyscrapers and art-deco architecture.”

December 14th will bring us I Am Legend, but more importantly it will give us our first real glimpse into the next movie in the recently reborn Batman franchise. The first six minutes of The Dark Knight will be premeired before the Will Smith vampire flick. As of right now I can’t be sure if it’s only the Imax version of the film or not.

Imax!

wonderwoman_cast_megan_gale.jpg

Looks like the upcoming Wonder Woman live action movie has quasi-officially confirmed the actress to play the lead role of the DC Comics amazon super chick. Despite the rumors of Jessica Biel and Megan Fox you may have heard, you’ve probably never heard of the girl they’ve apparently chosen. She’s Australian hottie/actress/model, Megan Gale. Looks like she will definitely be able to fill the tights, and she kinda looks like Wonder Woman too. Hopefully she has some descent acting chops to go along with the looks.

Boom!

blowtorch_new_hollywood_mov

You may not be familiar with Blowtorch, the new movie company, not the blowing torch welding tool, but allow me to introduce you. Like I said, Blowtorch is a new Hollywood movie studio. Oh, and they have $50 million dollars to get themselves started in the industry. What they’ve said they want to do is have 18 movies under their belt in the next 3 years or so. They’ll either make or buy these 18 movies at around $5 million a flick.

“We want to be in the Napoleon Dynamite business,”

Kelly Rordriques of Blowtorch

They have also expressed their interest in the college aged market. Maybe they’re trying to take on people like MTV films.

Anyway, what they’re doing that you may be interested in is a short film pitch contest. They want you to, in 3 minutes or less, give them a pitch for a movie you want to make. So, if you’re just dieing to get that great movie idea you’ve had rolling around in your head for the past decade made into a full fledged movie than what are you waiting for? Man, that was a long sentence. Too long maybe.

If you want more depth to your articles, first of all what are you doing here, and second, go here.

beowulf_souless_eyes_review

“I am Beowulf! Do you like me?” That’s a quote directly from the new CG movie Beowulf, but not really. So, anyway, if you didn’t know already, Beowulf is in theaters and the reviews are out. Does Beowulf live up to the hype? Well, if you’re like me and you follow the crowd, the crowd is saying no, it did not live up to the hype.

Here’s some quotes from some movie goers like yourself, or critics:

Zemeckis has been seduced by the siren call of motion capture… Memo to Zemeckis: come back to earth! read it at News Week

Beowulf aspires to epic realm of 300 and the fantasy of Lord of the Rings but falls short of both. But it’s an intriguing novelty act with a few stirring scenes. read the full article here

Though the realistic-looking people still have dead, soulless eyes, Beowulf is still an improvement over Zemeckis’ creepy kids’ movie The Polar Express. read it at Combustible Celluloid

So, that’s what some of the critics are saying. I happen to agree with most of what they’ve said. But, whatever, I wasn’t really even looking forward to this anyway. Leave a comment and let us know what you think of Beowulf.

Can’t wait for Beowolf to see the new J.J. Abrams trailer for his super secret new movie Cloverfield? Well, now you don’t have to. Someone has graciously captured and posted the new trailer on YouTube for our viewing pleasure. I’m sure it has Mr. Abrams blessing, right? Well, we all know the internet can’t keep a secret. Oh well.

If you want to see it ahead of time and don’t want to pay $10 for a ticket just to see Angelina Jolie as a mostly nude CG character then this might be what you’re looking for. The sound from the trailer is really bad, but at least the video is crappy too. Maybe you can find a better version on the net. If you can, let me know and I’ll replace this one.

Boom!

Update: Apple has released the full trailer online in all it’s HD glory here.

Well, GameTrailers.com has you covered. They recently launched a special area on their site dedicated to the new Assassin’s Creed game. It’s their Assassin’s Creed Launch Center.

Not only do they have a ton of video on the game, they also have a video review of the game as well. Most of the videos are available in HD which makes everything better.Game Trailers has already done this “launch center” thing with other games you may have heard of like Halo 3. So, if you’re interested in this game and love to watch game videos this is the place to be.

It seems another crazy popular game will be made into a movie.  Hopefully it will been done right and not suck like most video game movies.  It already has a writer attached to it so it seems pretty solid that it will get made.  No time table on its production beginning or release or anything real solid.  Stuart Beattie, writer of movies such as Pirates of The Caribbean (the first one), 30 Days of Night and Collateral has said he is excited and wants to make the movie.  Also references 300 as an influence.  Read the entire interview with him at Gamepro.  Now a debate can start on who will play Marcus and Dom.

WARNING! This video shows Will Ferrell laying in what may be a disturbing position with nothing but a basketball stratigically placed to cover his naughty bits. It’s funny, but you can’t say I didn’t at least warn you.

Anyway, Will Ferrell’s next big comedy is called “Semi-Pro”. The movie puts Ferrell in yet another sports setting, as did his last couple titles like Blades of Glory and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. This time it’s basketball. I’m a big fan of Will Ferrell and personally think his movie Anchorman is one of the funniest movies ever. We here at CounterAgent are look forward to this one. It’ll be releases at theaters February 28th, 2008.
