The upcoming Halo 3 Heroic map pack coming out on December 11th has just gotten some pictures. The pic you see above is of the new map ‘Foundry’. The pack will run you 800 Microsoft points, or roughly $10 US. For some higher resolution pics go here.

The wonderful people over at TechSmith are giving away one of the best screen capture programs, Camtasia Studio 3. If you’re wondering why it’s free, well that’s because they have their newest version 5 that they’re hoping you like what you use and want to upgrade. What is Camtasia and why should I care? You know what, I’ll let the creators of it, TechSmith explain:
- Capture everything you see on your screen
- Edit and enhance the videos - pinpoint cursor movements with special visual effects, perform sophisticated moves such as highlighting, zooming, and panning, and even record what you draw on the screen
- Share in the industry-standard AVI and streaming media formats.
So, how can you take advantage of this. I’m glad you asked. Just download the full trial version here. Once you’ve got that, you’ll need a software key to unlock the program’s full potential. You can get that here by entering your name, country, and email address here.

Marco Tempest is a magician AKA Virtual Magician. This guy has performed some interesting sidewalk magic using an ordinary camera phone without post production or camera tricks, wait, they are camera tricks, anyway. My favorite trick is the one he does with the iPhone. (I’m gonna get me one of those) Check him out at Virtual Magician. And after you watch the video with the iPhone magic, I’m guessing you’re gonna want to know where you can get those wacky magic gimmicks. I got u…Hottrix. This site has magic downloads and other cool stuff you can do with your device. To list a few of the downloads: iMunchies, iBeer (shown above), iBug, iRescueCall and NerdAlert. Get ready to be the life of the party geeks! Oh, and this is not just for iPhone, they have downloads for Palm OS, iPod or Treo.

Well, GameTrailers.com has you covered. They recently launched a special area on their site dedicated to the new Assassin’s Creed game. It’s their Assassin’s Creed Launch Center.
Not only do they have a ton of video on the game, they also have a video review of the game as well. Most of the videos are available in HD which makes everything better.Game Trailers has already done this “launch center” thing with other games you may have heard of like Halo 3. So, if you’re interested in this game and love to watch game videos this is the place to be.

Personally, I really like this game. I think it does the time effects very well. And the fact that they actually incorperated them in the multiplayer mode is really cool. This is a demo for multiplayer only. If you want to try the single player game they also have a demo for that. Check it out, it’s free. Oh yeah, and the weather effects are sweet.

You know the Xbox 360 updates we all get with each season in the year. Well, it looks like the fall update will bring with it a “new” feature for playing old games. Like the Sony’s PS3, where you can download a back catalog of old Playstation games, and the Wii’s Virtual Console with a number of old games available. Microsoft was feeling a little left out and maybe a bit of nostalgia, so they’ve decided to start adding a library of old Xbox games to the Xbox Live Marketplace for download. That’s right, regular Xbox games for download on Marketplace. Looks like 2 gig demos were only the tip of the iceburg.
The game list brings back fond memories of long ago. Including such classics as, Halo, Fable, Crimson Skies, Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex and Burnout 3.
Gamers can expect to pay about the same for an old Xbox game as a high priced Live Arcade title. That’s around 1200 Microsoft Points (roughly $15 in real cash money).
When does all this hit your 360? Expect it early in December, around the 4th.

Already some DLC for Guitar Hero 3. One week and there is 2 new song packs. First is from the ever rockin Foo Fighters containing “All my Life”, “The Pretender”, and “This is a Call”. The other is from that crappy mega rock band Velvet Revolver it includes “Messages”, “She Builds Quick Machines”, and “Slither” all of which are sucky songs from a sucky band. They will set you back 500 Microsoft points.
Enjoy!!
A new online PC gaming service has “re”-launched recently. GoLoader.com allows you to buy and download a large number of PC games. The service is brought to you by the people behind the more traditional game shopping site GoGamer.com.
They do something different than other downloadable game sites with their 2 Minute Madness. Basically if you buy the game you’re currently looking at within 2 minutes of looking at it and you’ll get a 25% discount off the purchase price. Not sure if that applies to all games or just select titles. Overall the prices are less than a full boxed version of the same game.

Comedy Central’s hit news show The Daily Show with John Stewart kicks off it’s very own online video hub. Looks like they’re trying to get in on a piece of their own YouTube action. The official site at thedailyshow.com has begun hosting all 9 years of content since John Stewart started hosting the show (sorry, no Craig Kilborn episodes). The video’s are not edited for full episodes and can’t be downloaded, yet. They are instead separated into individual segments cut from the show. The video’s are completely free and ad supported.
I’ve tried using the site and haven’t yet had much success viewing videos. Seems it’s either poorly made or extremely popular, maybe a little of both. Anyway, if you can get it to work it is free and freakin’ hilarious.
