At the new, lower price of $99 the MS wireless racing wheel is still a bit expensive for the average gamer. However, if you’re a racing game fan, with a decent size wallet, the wheel really is a solid purchase. As of right now the Xbox 360 is one of the best platforms for racing games. We’ve got some great games like: Dirt (must own), Sega Rally Revo (rental), Forza Motor Sport 2 (best simulation), Project Gotham Racing 4 (best arcade/sim), and the upcoming Burnout Paradise (best speed/crashing).

Hey, score one for PS3! They don’t charge for any online service, although they don’t really have much reason to right now anyway. Yeah, and the Wii I guess, whatever. Microsoft officially announced a downgrade to anyone using a Silver (free) Xbox Live account. If you’re not willing drop the $50 a year, you’ll be missing out on downloadable content, at least for the first week or two anyway.
Can you believe Microsoft is actually downgrading services at this point? You’d think they would want to continue undercutting the competition by extending the Silver membership abilities. They’re not exactly going to expand the audience this way. What do you think? Comment on this story below.

In useless lawsuit news the 80’s one hit wonder The Romantics lost there lawsuit to have Guitar Hero Encore sales halted. Activision’s great year just seems to be getting better and better with the favorable ruling. There is no ruling yet on whether or not they will have to pay any royalties or not to the band.
In case you don’t remember the band was claiming that the “cover version” of their song “What I Like About You” was to close to the original. If The Romantics were just trying to get some fresh press, that’s about all they’ve gotten so far, then job well done guys.
Also in Activision news their little tiff with Rock Band and Harmonix seems to be a matter of money. Activision said they would release the patch to make their guitars work with Rock Band basically if they get paid. Oh the power of the almighty dollar.
Ubisoft has released some new info on the new Rainbow Six Vegas game. We here at Counter Agent can’t wait for this game, we loved the first one. Heres the release.
That’s right, Nintendo is losing billions of dollars a month on all the Wii’s they’re not making and selling. On another note, Sony is still losing billions on all the PS3’s they are making and not selling. So, is it a conspiracy or not? Are the guys over at the big N holding back on purpose? According to Reggie Fils-Aime, the company is not holding back. Why would they? I have to admit, I was a skeptic. I thought they might’ve been holding back. They have been in the video game hardware/software business for over 25 years now and you’d think they, more than any of their competitors, would be able to keep up with demand. Guess not.

On another note, Nintendo will be teaming up with GameStop to help people deal with the Wii shortage. They’ll be offering customers rain checks. According to Yahoo!, the rain checks will be available at the regular Wii system price, $249.99, on Dec. 20 and 21, and will entitle buyers to get the Nintendo console before Jan. 29. Fils-Aime said “many tens of thousands of rain checks” would be available.

Crysis only sold a meager 86,633 copies in 18 days. At least it was better than Unreal Tournament 3’s craptastic sales, selling an alarmingly low 33,995 copies over 12 days. Is PC gaming dead? People are constantly raising this question. The real problem isn’t if PC gaming is dead. It’s that PC gaming is too alive. So many people are still playing games like World of Warcraft and The Sims that no one has time or money to spend on new games. Or maybe they just don’t care to upgrade PC’s for a couple games.
Boom!
Whats that you say? It’s actually not Allen Iverson but actually Artificial Intelligence. EVEN BETTER! Gaming Today is reporting that an update for the game will make it possible for 10 different people to control the 10 players on the floor. Each person controls a different player on the court. This a great move. I can’t wait to try it.
You can have 1-5 players on a single console ( 4 on the 360). The download will happen automatically for PS3 owners and will be available for the 360 later this month.
Now instead of yelling at the AI for screwing up I can direct my yelling at actual people. I got dibs on playing as Sheldon Williams!!!!

According to an article from Reuters, Activision had the top-selling video game in November with Call of Duty 4 which “killed the competition” by selling more than 2.01 million copies for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
And while we’re talking numbers, Nintendo’s Wii had the best month of it’s life to date with some 981,000 units sold.
Boom!
