The ESRB has tipped Capcom’s hat with a sighting of Lost Planet: Colonies. The ESRB, or Entertainment Software Ratings Board, has revealed the upcoming Xbox 360, PS3, and PC game from Capcom via a rating posted on their site. There are no details on the game right now, other than an ESRB rating of T for Teen. No big surprise, considering the first Lost Planet: Extreme Condition had the same T rating. Thanks to Kotaku for the story tip.

Boom!

Bionic Commando, Capcom’s long dead franchise, is currently receiving a lot of attention. From the upcoming full next-gen update of the game, and now this, Bionic Commando: ReArmed. It’s really more of a true update/upgrade than the other game in the works, and it’s only sequelish. The game will be availible on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Here’s the bullet points straight from Capcom:

  • Classic Bionic Commando gameplay focused around the use of the bionic grappling arm
  • 2-player co-op mode
  • Total modern visual revamp, including dynamic shadows, particle effects and environmental damage
  • Reworking of musical score
  • Cross-game interoperability – complete specific parts of Bionic Commando Rearmed to unlock new content and hints for the Bionic Commando sequel
  • In-game art designed by one of Capcom’s most talented artists, Toshiaki Mori

And here’s the gallery:

The first in game video hit for the upcoming Street Fighter game.Game looks pretty solid. You know for just seeing Ryu and Ken fight for a bit. This game has been getting all kind of press and looks like it will continue until it is released. We’ll keep you up to date.

Street Fighter 4 (or IV for all the Romans out there) is being hyped like crazy. The folks over at 1up.com have managed to get some exclusive playtime with the upcoming fighter. The information is very limited and stretched out to 3 pages of not much more than “the game looks very good” and “we can’t wait” or “they couldn’t tell us more than that”. They do tell us a little about a new “saving system” (not save as in save your game’s progress, but save as in block/parry), a “revenge gauge”, and new “ultra combos”. Read the full article over at 1up.com for the details.

All of the new screens they’ve just posted are the same ones the entire internet had their hands on last week, including us. In case you missed it, here they are.

Boom!

Sorry everybody, I had to remove the scans of the leaked EGM/1up.com article about Capcom’s Street Fighter 4. It seems we’re so big now that Ziff Davis considers us a threat. Yay! Am I the only one that noticed this or am I just seeing things. This is an actual screenshot. The only thing I did to it was circle certain interesting ”parts”. Looks like the new Street Fighter IV (4) adds more than  just enhanced 3D visuals. It seems Ryu likes fighting, I mean really likes it.

The game is reported as being a traditional 2D style fighter with new 3D style graphics. From the picture you can see some of the new 3 demsional features they’re including, eh? You’d think someone at Capcom would have at least checked the pic before releasing it to the guys over at 1UP.com

Look for the Street Fighter 4 sometime in 2008.

Boom!

Capcom’s upcoming Bionic Commando is looking very promising. The basic grappling hook gameplay from Lost Planet is overhauled to give the player much more abilities including grappling an enemy. You can also use the grappling hook to swing from point to point around the city, a la spiderman. I’m looking forward to this game very much.

Boom!

Eat your heart out Spider-man. Capcom continues it’s fan love with a video of it’s upcoming revitalization of Bionic Commando. From what the video shows the game looks pretty cool. Before now, Spiderman has been the only hero to swing from building to building in a large metropolis city. Looks like Capcom’s taken some of the ideas from Lost Planet (the Grappling Hook) and decided to expand them with the Bionic Commando franchise. I’m still not sure about the whole dreadlocks thing though. We’ll have to wait and see.

And for those of you that can’t get enough Podcasts, Bionic Commando will be debuting their very own podcast on October 30th.

Street Fighter 4 - Capcom

Capcom’s big announcement is finally here. It’s a new Street Fighter game. Street Fighter IV (4) isn’t coming until late next year but that can’t stop fanboys from drooling now. Capcom has a trailer of the game here.In addition to the new Street Fighter, Capcom has also said they’ll be bringing Lost Planet to the PS3 (including all the downloadable content and extras the PC and Xbox 360 version have). Also, a new game franchise called Dark Void, a sci-fi action/adventure game. And the old Nintendo game Bionic Commando is getting a next-gen remake.

Boom!

“Prepare Yourself” is all they have to say right now but evidently Capcom has something big in store. New game from a Capcom franchise? Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, Mega Man (our personal hope),Lost Planet 2? We’ll just have to see. As of this post there is about 1 day left so we’ll let you know what it is as soon as we hear. Check out there site Capcom.com.
