Castle Crashers is the next big little thing from the people behind the frantic and colorful Alien Hominid. Sorry, but this game isn’t a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game. However, it does share some similarities to the old arcade and NES turtles games. If you where a fan of the old arcade games where you and three of your buddies could drop quarter after quarter fighting armies of faceless minions, then this is for you, minus the quarters.

Castle Crashers is a high intensity, 4-player co-op, action hack and slash game. The game is all hand drawn and rendered in beautiful HD. The gameplay is very much like the old two and a half demensional side scrolling co-op fighting games like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, X-Men, and The Simpsons arcade games. The Behemoth, the company making the game is still very much a indie developer, as they do everything in-house, from development, to marketing, to distribution. This game will be fairly easy for them to distribute, seeing as how it will be coming to the Xbox 360 via the Xbox Live Arcade. All the better for them and us. They make more actual profit and get to easily distribute a game, we get a great game at a much better price than full retail.

It’s a good thing I’m not a terrorist hanging out in my terrorist lair because Army of Two would have sneaked up on me and killed me before I even knew what happened. That’s right Army of Two comes out next week on March 4th. I for one was totally caught off guard by it. I’m looking forward to this game and have been since E3, because  it’s co-op based gameplay intrigues me so. Check out the video for the co-op.

Gametrailers.com has added a bunch of new videos for the game check them out.

What do you think? To me it looks pretty good.

Did you have a chance to download and try the demos for the new XNA created community games? They were only available for a limited time. Why? No real reason, guess it was just a test to see if there was any interest. So, was there any interest? At first, yeah, I was totally interested. Then I downloaded and played all the games.

They’re only 15 day trials, which for the vast majority is plenty enough, if not too much time. Some of the games seem very much like tech demos, not games. One of the games, Jelly Car, is a really cool little tech demo, but it kind of gets boring real quick. Probably the most fully fleshed out title was The Dishwasher. The game, Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, is actually not at all about washing dishes, more about killing stuff in the most brutal, bloody way possible. The game starts slow and builds nicely, adding new moves every once in a while to extend you’re arsenal of death. It’s definitely not for the squeamish.

Other than these, there really isn’t anything you can’t just play online at any number of flash casual game sites. We’ll have to wait and see what actually becomes of this whole community games thing. At this point nothing really compels me to grab my M$ points wallet just yet. I’m still waiting for games that are actual games, like the upcoming Bionic Commando: Re-Armed.

Abandon ship! Phil Harrison, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS), is quiting as of February 29, 2008. Kazuo “Kaz” Hirai is set to take Phil’s place as the President of SCE WWS. Subsequently Kaz shaved his head in order to better serve as president, because no one like too much change.

Phil Harrison has been with Sony from the beginning of their venture into gaming with the original Playstation. Is Sony really going to make it out on top this year? With a shocking resignation like this only time will tell what further effects it could have. Can Kaz Hirai lead the PS3 to victory? Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion.

Holy Crap! All the favorites from one of Capcom’s best fighting games ever Street Fighter 2 return in full 3D-ish glory. The trailer is just a little over three minutes long and features ten different characters from the game. Two of the fighters are new, C. Viper and Abel. The rest are the people that made the Street Fighter series so popular back in the day, such as Guile, Ryu, Ken, and everyone’s favorite mean green fighting machine, Blanka.

Morgan Webb and Adam Sessler of X-Play were kind enough to get us this interview and hands on demo of the upcoming super spy MMO The Agency. The Agency, hmm, much like the Counter Agent Global Enforcement, is something you’ll definitely be into. To my knowledge it’s the first MMO on a console and the first MMO based in the counter intelligence realm of spies and espionage. I know I’m not alone when I say this looks like a refreshing take on a genre of game dominated by the sole property that is Blizzard’s World of Warcraft.

If Sony’s willing to take risks like this and make unique, good gaming experiences more often then the PS3 may actually prove to be an adversary of the Xbox 360 giant. Here’s hoping.

Here are some release dates:
MySims Kingdom for Nintendo DS and Wii should be released in the beginning of October and the end of December.
MySims for PC to be out about the same time.
MySims Party for Nintendo DS and Wii to be released between January and March 2009.
SimCity Creator will be out sometime before 2011. When exactly? I dunno.
SimAnimals to be by the end of March 2009.
Wow that is a lot of Sims. I’m still working on Sims 2 Open for business. I haven’t sold my first flower arrangement yet. If you gotta tip, let me know. I need me some simoleons people! Oh, and I hope you enjoy the video I made. Those Sims are always up to no good.

Thanks Shacknews!

According to Xbox360Fanboy and Bungie’s own official site more maps are on the way. Duh. Of course there’s going to be new maps. However, the best part of this is that the current Heroic Map Pack will probably be free soon or at least around the time of this new Legendary Map Pack release. So far they’re only showing one map, Ghost Town, from the pack, and sorry, no release date yet.

Just thought this was a cool thing for all you pwnrs our there. Turns out it’s a t-shirt too.

Zelda Link Heart T-Shirt

Think Geek features a number of cool geek apparel and this is no exception. The latest t-shirt they’ve done is a proximity based light up heart shirt. What that means is you’ve got to buy two. One for you and one for your lover. While wearing the shirts, the closer in proximity the two shirts become the more hearts light up. In contrast, hearts will begin to dim the farther you are from each other. Less love. Check ‘em out at Think Geek. If you’ve got a girl that’ll share her love in this geekery than I say hold tight and never let go.
