The new cartoon premieres this Saturday at 10:30 AM on Cartoon Network. Check out this week’s Cartoon Network Podcast for a preview of the cartoon, and to hear the cheesy 80’s style theme song. The animated style leans toward the popular, simple, anime style. Similar to the way ‘The Batman’ looks.

Here’s some of the cast members. Optimus Prime, Prowl, Bulkhead, Ratchet Bumblebee, Ultra Magnus, Megatron, and Starscream. Optimus Prime is still the leader of the Autobots, however, it seems Sentinal Prime is the big man on Cybertron, while Optimus Prime is merely the leader on Earth. In this cartoon Optimus Prime wields his energy axe and can transform into, not a Mac truck, but a firetruck.

Wreck-Gar will also make an appearance in the cartoon. He’ll be voiced by none other than “Weird Al” Yankovic whose song, Dare to Be Stupid, was featured in a chase scene from the 1986 film, ‘The Transformers: The Movie‘. Soundwave gets a change from his traditional alternate form as a tape deck into the hipster, square, toaster of a car, the Scion XB.
