About the only thing I know about Greenpeace is that Russell Dalrymple from Seinfeld went off to join them after Elaine dumped him. It looks like Greenpeace is pretty big though and they care about the earth or something. They released their list of big time companies impact on the environment.

Every year Sony of course is subject to their wrath, and this year Microsoft and Nintendo finally have to face the Greenpeace fury. The study consists of two different types of criteria:

1 The clean up of their products by eliminating hazardous substances
2 Takeback and recycling of their products responsibly once they become obsolete. The two issues are connected. The use of harmful chemicals in electronics prevents their safe recycling when the products are discarded.

Seeing as how its Microsoft and Nintendo’s first time on the list they both come in towards the bottom of the list. In fact you can’t get any lower then Nintendo, they come in dead last with zeros across the board (congrats that’s a first). Check out the whole list here at Greenpeace.

The Unreal Engine 3, the tech behind games like Gears of War, is available to anyone with a big enough bank account. That said, it looks like a Wii developer has decided to write that check and try to cram all the power behind one of the newest and most graphically impressive game engines out there into that little ‘ol Wii. Epic VP Mark Rein says one of the company’s engine licensees is currently attempting to port the Unreal Engine 3 onto Nintendo’s Wii. “I know one of our licensees who’s giving it a shot. It’s their own port, in the same way Ubisoft brought Unreal Engine 2 to the Wii,” Rein said at the Unreal Tournament III launch event in Birmingham.

The hits just keep on coming for the PS3. If you have a Xbox 360 version of The Orange Box, you’ve been enjoying the beauty and greatness for a while now. It has been getting great reviews.

As with several other big titles PS3 owners will have to wait for their Orange Box. This is bad enough i think, come on another title you Sony boys have to wait for. At least when you get your version its gonna be great, right? Evidently not! On the website 1up.com they posted a preview of The Orange Box. Here’s a bit of the best part of the preview:

“After spending a significant amount of time with a near final version of the PS3 game, it’s apparent that the Half-Life games in this version suffer from a number of technical flaws, which at best merely hinder gameplay and at worst make the experience downright unplayable. Framerate is a consistent issue throughout the Half-Life series of games included in The Orange Box. One moment you’ll be cruising through the game at 30 frames per second and the next you’ll be enjoying a slideshow of series protagonist Gordon Freeman cruising down the river. However, Portal suffers from no such technical hiccups and is on its way to being a pitch-perfect port of the spatial reasoning exercise. Due to a server connection issue, we were unable to get any time with Team Fortress 2.”

Wow “downright unplayable” that’s not good. For a game that first off is the great value of 5 games in one, and second is 5 great games in one this is rough. I guess it doesn’t help that the founder of Valve Gabe Newell referred to the PlayStation 3 as “a waste of everybody’s time.”

Oh well another dent in the PS3 shell.

Thanks 1up

Update! This Deal is Dead.
halo3_legendary.jpg

Okay, this deal is totally nuts. Halo 3 Legendary, which normally sells for $129.99 is only $59.99 at Amazon.com right now. If you haven’t picked up Halo 3 yet or just really want that Spartan Helmet this deal is too good to pass up.

Boom!

cufflinkspremier_1975_580247001.jpg

Ok so I admit that this doesn’t have a ton to do with gaming. But I am a fan of cuff-links. My personal collection includes a pair of beautiful Chewbacca cuff-links that I purchased for a friends wedding. Now for the few times that you might have to dress up, you can let your geek flag fly with these babies. Yea I know $150 is a bit steep for something that might not be used very much, but hey they are still cool.

This site is pretty sweet check it out Cufflinks.com . They have a wide variety of cuff-links including some sweet skull and crossbones that would go great with my skull and crossbones tie.

darkknight21.jpg

Another bunch of viral sites for “The Dark Knight” are popping up. The last one was a pretty cool scavenger hunt that unlocked a new Joker pic. These new ones aren’t as interactive but are pretty cool anyway.

The Gotham Times - Is a newspaper with info and teasers

The Ha Ha Times - Is the same newspaper but Joker- ized

We Are The Answer - Is a whistle blower site for corrupt cops

Gotham National Bank - Name kinda explains it

Remembering Gina - In the newspaper there is a story of a girl named Gina who was killed is gang crossfire

Gotham Police - Again explains itself

Gotham City Rail - Can’t tell you anything about this one cause I don’t know anything

Thanks Rotten Tomatoes

This is a pretty cool little story about 10 insanely good video gamers. The thing is I think there may be better gamer videos out there of people going off on different games. If you know of any better videos send them to us. Also the Super Mario clip may be fake. There are some moments in it that make it seem fake. Check it out and give us your thoughts.

walmart_xbox360_bundle_cyber_monday1.jpg

Update: This bundle is now OUT OF STOCK, well you can still get the regular Xbox 360 Premium Bundle for $349.

Walmart.com has a sweet little “Cyber Monday” special. What you get is a Xbox 360 Premium Pro Bundle with not only the 2 games you normally get (Forza 2 and Marve: Ultimate Alliance), but you also get one game of your choice, any game your heart desires (as long as it’s on their list, which happens to have most of the top 360 titles), may I recommend The Orange Box, Call of Duty 4, or the game pictured, Halo 3, oh wait, that’s right, it’s not on the list. What? Are you serious Walmart? Why would it be in the picture if it’s not on the list? Anyway, in addition to that you get 2 wireless controllers and a “Messenger” Bag for carrying your 360 to a friends house for a weekend of pizza and energy drinks at a lan party. All that for the rock bottom price of $399.99. That’s just $50 more than the regular bundle for an extra game or your choice, wireless controller, and messenger bag. That’s roughly $140 worth of extra stuff and you’re just paying $50 extra.

Boom!

You can now add an avatar, or icon, or whatever you want to call it to your profile. That way any time you comment it will show up next to your comment and people will see it and love you. I know this isn’t anything new to most sites, but we’ve just added it to ours. That means it’s new. I’m still sick so this is the most I can do right now.

Hopefully I’ll be making some forums soon to help build out the community part of CounterAgent. I welcome any suggestions you might have. Let me know of the community type stuff you use or like. Just email me at: contact@counteragent.com or use the link up top^.

I went ahead and recorded a little video to demonstrate how to use the new feature. You probably won’t need to watch it, but I’m posting it anyway.

Boom! *Cough*
