In the Micro Center ad just released in stores and online they are showing off a Refurbished Xbox 360 Pro for only $229.99. That’s less than a Wii and most likely more available. While the Xbox 360 is refurbished, it does include a 1 year exchange warranty. In the box you’ll get the Xbox 360 Pro with 20 gig hard drive, 1 wireless controller, cables and headset. All that for under $250 is amazing.
There is the fact that you’ll have to get this deal at an actual brick and mortar store, meaning not online on their website. But if you happen to be looking for an Xbox 360, don’t have much cash, and live near a Micro Center, than this is a great buy.

Oh yeah, and thanks to Noah for the heads up on this sweet deal.

At least for the first of it. The first 5 minutes of the upcoming Batman sequel “The Dark Knight” will be playing before screenings of the new Will Smith flick “I Am Legend”. Of course there is a bit of a catch. First off this is a third hand rumor and not, I repeat not hard fact. Second it seems that it will only be shown the IMAX screenings.
It is rumored to be a Joker prologue that might be the first 5 minutes of the movie. We’ll see when “I Am Legend ” comes out in Dec.
Also some of the story/production details have leaked they include
-Batman will go to Hongkong [sic] for some kind of “gangster hunting”, but the producer Chuck Roven won’t tell us why Batman travels to Hongkong.
-The whole thing is not ‘Joker Begins’, because we did not tell how the Joker became what he is”, says director Christopher Nolan. “During these five minutes it is shown how the joker of the small crook becomes the most-dreaded gangster of the city - it is more of a “The Rise of the Joker”
-Batman’s new mask will have white lenses on the eyes when he turn on the Bat-sonar detection.
This hopefully will keep us satisfied on “Dark Knight” news until we see the trailer. Of course the other question is “Is I Am Legend gonna be worth the extra money it costs to see an IMAX movie?” Does the trailer make it worthwhile? We’ll see.
We were huge fans of “Batman Begins” around here and can’t wait for “The Dark Knight” and hope that it will be as good if not better.
Hello all it seems the kids are hip to this little website called Myspace.com. Well now we are as cool as everyone else we have started a myspace page. Check it out CounterAgent . Hit it up and we will add you as a friend. We will be posting more on it shortly.
Here’s a screenshot I took of the Crysis demo. The demo size is pretty large at almost 2 gigs. The computer I played it on just barely meets the minimum system requirements, but I have to day it actually still looked good. If you have a descent gaming machine you must download this single player demo. Not only is this game a showpiece of what games can look like, but it actually plays really well. The guys at Crytek have done it again. They sure do love them some tropical islands. Can’t wait for the full game.

Sony is down on its knees begging. No they aren’t begging us to buy more PS3’s. Instead they are begging developers to hang around and still make games for the PS3. Dean Takahashi of the Mercury News in a report of the NPD breakdown alleges they are begging
“One piece of news that came out this week was that Sony pleaded with third-party developers not to abandon its struggling platform. That change in attitude is a marked difference compared to the arrogance of past years.” Said Dean on his blog.
“The argument is that the PS3 will show its strength as developers learn how to make games for it. But developers know they can staff four or five Wii teams with the same number of people it takes to make one PS3 game.”
There hasn’t been much of a presence by PS3 games in the monthly sales reports and it seems that Sony will beg to keep developers.
But what about the gamers? The guys at Sony also seem to have addressed the lack of backwards compatibility. Sony admitted to the lack of BC because they wanted to sell more PS3’s. Wow a bit of honesty from Sony, can you believe it? Basically they want people to buy the lower priced PS3 and not the PS2. We would still like to see more backwards compatibility but we also like being told the truth. Check out Adam Sesslers rant on this subject at G4tv Sessler’s Soapbox .
Another delay for another big title. Looks like Army of 2 will not be coming out until early next year. This marks yet another push back for a industry that makes it seem like your doing something wrong if you don’t delay your release at least once. With pretty much all of Sony’s big exclusives being pushed back as well as Nintendo’s we have to wonder why this keeps happening. Is it that the developers are just not given enough time to finish? Do they simply just jump the gun in stating their release dates? Maybe it a good thing maybe it means that they are going the extra mile to make sure these games don’t suck. Of course what do they say if and when it does come out and it still sucks? Army of 2 has created quite a bit of buzz around here at Counter Agent with its made for co-op game-play and we were eager to get our hands on it. If the delay just makes it better then delay away EA. Maybe EA just wanted to push it back because there is going to be a gluttony of games coming out around the same time as their first release date. We’ll just have to wait and see, fortunately we have and will be getting plenty of games in the coming weeks to keep us busy.
We’ve been working on a new feature for our site and it’s finally here. It’s a new release countdown page. There we’ll be showcasing the coolest new games coming out sooner or later. The list will include anything we’re looking forward to, games, movies, music, tech, etc.
If you’ve got a game, product, or anything you’re looking forward to, let us know and we might just add it to the countdown list. Send it to us at: countdowns@counteragent.com
In addition to viewing the countdowns on our countdown page, you can also embed the countdown player in your own site, web page, or comment anywhere they allow embedding.

The “Arcade” version of the Xbox 360 is finally officially here. Early speculation had said the box was coming with trial versions of the arcade games. However, the console does come with 5 Full Version Xbox Live Arcade games. Here’s the bullet points (thanks to Major Nelson):
- Available now in most stores for US $279.99
- Comes with a wireless controller
- Has HDMI out
- 256 Memory Card in the box
- Includes Full Versions of the following Arcade titles on disc:
- PAC-MAN Championship Edition -Best Bundled Arcade Game!
- Uno - Eh, It’s Good if You Like Uno
- Luxor 2 - Basic Puzzle Game
- Boom Boom Rocket - Hit the Buttons According to the Music
- Feeding Frenzy - Total Crap
This really isn’t a bad deal if you’re just getting into the next-gen console market. It’s the first console to actually get close to competing with the Wii. I just don’t know why they couldn’t take a little more off the price to directly match the Wii’s price at $249.
