Super Luigi Galaxy

If you want to play as the taller, slimmer, greener Mario brother you’ll first need to beat the game as the more traditional short, squat, red Mario brother. You’ll need to collect all 120 stars, ala Super Mario 64. Once you’ve done that you’ll also need to fight and defeat Bowser two times. An exerpt from the guide claims, “Luigi jumps higher and further, and also runs faster, but has trouble stopping. They each have the same moves, such as the long-jump or back-flip, but the difference in their basic jump, running speed, and stopping ability makes completing the game harder.”

While this news isn’t exactly groundbreaking, it is nice to know Nintendo is still looking to please it’s fans with this kind of thing. It’ll definitely make the game worth finishing.

Kane And Lynch

STOP THE PRESSES!!!!!!!!!!

A game that will come out early?!?!?!! That’s right folks Kane & Lynch: Dead Men will be releasing a week early on Nov 13rd. YEAAAAAA!!!!!!

With all the talk of games being pushed back and delayed (we’re looking at you Metal Gear Solid 4 and Army of Two) its nice to get something sooner then expected. This game might not seem like a top tier title but I’m more interested in it now for sure.

Developers pay heed please please please give yourself enough time to finish a game and get it out on the date you tell us first.

MGS4

Once again a Sony exclusive that was supposed to help the PS3 start gaining ground on the other consoles is being delayed again. The future for PS3 gamers is looking up with exclusives like Haze, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune and Metal Gear Solid 4. Unfortunately MGS4 has once again been pushed back. It was set to release this winter but now it seems it will be March 08 at the earliest that we will have this game.

Seems like Sony just keeps getting hit hard by delays on their top tier games. I really am getting tired of hearing about their delays. PS3 owners have got to be fit for a straight jacket by now.

Oh well

GoLoader.com Buy And Download PC Games

A new online PC gaming service has “re”-launched recently. GoLoader.com allows you to buy and download a large number of PC games. The service is brought to you by the people behind the more traditional game shopping site GoGamer.com.

They do something different than other downloadable game sites with their 2 Minute Madness. Basically if you buy the game you’re currently looking at within 2 minutes of looking at it and you’ll get a 25% discount off the purchase price. Not sure if that applies to all games or just select titles. Overall the prices are less than a full boxed version of the same game.

Dirt

We’ve added a new segment to our podcast called versus. We will each take a game and play it and then debate about it on the podcast.

Our first Versus we compared the new rally racing games for Xbox 360. I took DIRT and Jonathan took Sega Rally Revo. To hear our heated exchange check out our podcast.

Also if you have ideas for future Versus we would love to hear them and we will do them.

Kotor

Another video game rumor seems to be coming true. Lucasarts and Bioware have made an announcement that they will work togeither to release a new interactive entertainment product. Will it be the rumored KOTOR MMO? We shall see.

“LucasArts has a deep commitment to developing compelling stories and characters for the unique medium of interactive entertainment, and we have been searching for a developer that shares this value. We found this in BioWare,” said Jim Ward, president of LucasArts. “Through our previous collaborations, we know that BioWare has an impressive ability to blend gripping stories with technological advancements, and we believe that our upcoming product will deliver an experience that will span the traditional boundaries of video game entertainment.”

“BioWare’s mission is to deliver the best story and character-driven games in the world, delivering powerful emotional experiences to our fans.” said Ray Muzyka, chief executive officer, BioWare Corp. Added Greg Zeschuk, president of BioWare Corp., “The collaboration with LucasArts allows us to combine our passion for creating high quality and innovative experiences with those of a company dedicated to bringing only the finest games to market.”

Everyone seems to want this so my guess is that it will be.

Goulet

A moment of silence please……….. Robert Goulet has passed away. He will be missed. His work in Camelot is still and always will be the standard for all actors who follow him. Will Ferrell’s hilarious portrayal of Mr. Goulet on SNL is one for the ages and will always make this guy smile.

Goodnight Mr. Goulet you were amazing!!!!!

Gamepark Handheld Game System

A new handheld unit hopes to take a small chunk out of Nintendo and Sony with it’s Linux based system. The portable gaming system sports a 320 x 240 touch screen much like Nintendo’s popular DS. The system also comes with a few games to get you started. But, don’t think you’ll find games in any local stores. This unit is designed as a “user created” content system. Meaning, you can put whatever you want on it. Transfer files from your computer, including movies, music, games, and e-books to this device using the included USB cable. The content is all stored on a removable SD card (sold separately, you can get a 1gb card for around $10 if you look). All this comes at a whopping $169, which is a pretty reasonable price considering all it’s capable of.

Casual gamers need not apply, this is a hacker’s delight, or even just a tweaker, maybe fiddler, whatever. Anyway, check it out because it’s cool and you can do a lot with it if you’re handy. Including the taboo, emulation! That means simulating other games from other systems on a system not specifically designed for them. You know, like old NES games on your computer. Not that we endorse that sort of thing, because it may or may not me legal.

Homer

That’s right Homer you are somewhere where you don’t know where you are. Tomorrow the newest Simpson’s game comes out and GASP!!!!!!! it seems like it will be a good Simpson’s game. Of course we have only played the demo thus far, but we found it to be very enjoyable and very well done. The game looks really good and the sound acting and humor is actually good and funny.

Past Simpson games have left us unfulfilled and wanting for more. We are really really big Simpson’s fans around here (the cartoon family not the double murder getting away with soon to be jailed for armed robbery ex football player). I have always wanted a Simpson’s game I can be proud to play and there hasn’t been one. Either the sound acting sucks or they don’t use the same writers and its no where near as funny as the show or it just plain isn’t fun. But this game seems to break the mold and we couldn’t be happier.
